What is the difference between PIN and Password? Why must I enter a PIN during registration for SMS Password Reset?
The PIN number is a second layer of security for authentication. We enhanced the security through mobile phone authentication, along with the special PIN you created during registration.

While I am trying to register, the message "Authentication fails. Please try again with correct details." appears. What does this mean?
This message will appear when you enter invalid username or password info.

What if I forget the PIN to retrieve my SMUSTU/SMUSTF ?
If you forgot the PIN but still remember your username and password, you can repeat the registration process again with a new PIN.

What if I forget both my SMUSTU/SMUSTF password and the PIN I registered through SMS?
If you can't remember both your domain password and personal PIN, you have to drop by or call CIT Helpdesk for assistance.

How long does it take for the SMS system to reply my request?
In a normal situation, it would take a couple of minutes for the reply. But the response time might vary, depending on the ISP (Singtel, Starhub or M1) network traffic.

Any cost of this SMS service?
There are no charges for this SMS service, but your mobile provider's standard rates for sending and receiving text messages still apply.

Why I can't use the new password received in SMS to access eWise/OASIS?
We have implemented a 20MB limit on every outgoing email. This limit is to prevent users from sending large file attachments that would hog the server resource.

How do I change my password if I currently logged into SMUSTF or SMUSTF domain on a Windows XP professional computer?
Press CTRL+ALT+DEL key on your workstation and choose "Change Password...
